November 2-4, 2012
Université du Québec à Montréal, Montréal
For the first time in its existence, CASA will be holding its Biannual Conference at the Université du Québec in Montréal. This Conference is traditionally an occasion and a forum for exchanges among Canadian scholars working on all regions of Asia, on Can-Asian heritage, as well as on relations between Canada and this part of the world. This event is open to all scholars, students, policy makers and civil society members having an interest in Asia. The conference makes it possible to offer a distinct Canadian perspective on the challenges and opportunities related to relationships with this region, while also considering the past, present and future role of the Asian community and heritage in Canada. The organizing committee strongly encourages the organization of full panels, focusing on specific themes. Submissions coming from any discipline in the social sciences and humanities are welcome and the creation of inter- and multi-disciplinary panels is also strongly encouraged.
The sessions may be round tables where several scholars or civil society members discuss their work and interests, or the presentation of 3-4 research projects with discussion. For more information, submission instructions can be found at the following link: http://www.casa-acea.ca/?page_id=750 Moreover, the Conference organizing committee strongly encourages students who are working on issues related to development in Asia to submit their proposals. The deadline for submitting a proposal is June 30th, 2012
